MISSION STATEMENT

• OUR MISSION IS TO ASSIST THE UNIVERSITY BY
  PROVIDING A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR OUR NSU
  COMMUNITY.
• To accomplish this mission, we have
• Public Safety Officers
• On campus to enforce the Universitys policies
  and rules.
• Police Officers
• Who respond to enforce state and local laws.
• Fire Rescue
• That responds to fire alarms and medical
  emergencies.
• And YOU
• To call 911 first, then Public Safety for
  assistance.

FIRE ALARMS

• WHEN YOU HEAR A FIRE ALARM
• Stop what youre doing.
• Evacuate the building.
• Do not use elevators or interior stairs.
• Use fire exit stairs to leave the building.
• Go to a designated area.
• Do not jeopardize your life.

DRIVER ASSISTANCE

• Vehicle Lockouts
• Public Safety Officers on the main campus will
  attempt to open your car, so long as you dont
  have side air bags.
• Vehicle Jumpstarts
• Public Safety Officers will attempt to jumpstart
  your car using a jump pack only.
• Tires Air
• Public Safety Officers can inflate your tires
  but we cannot help you change them.

PARKING ON CAMPUS

• ALL PARKING REGULATIONS ARE ENFORCED.
• Information regarding these parking regulations
  can be found
• in the Campus Safety and Traffic Handbook.
• Regulated parking areas include
• Handicap Parking
• Reserve Parking
• Visitor Parking
• Patient Parking
• Gated Parking
• HPD Parking Garage
• NSU Student/Staff Parking
• LRITC Public Parking Garage
• VIOLATORS CAN BE FINED AND TOWED.

• THE SECURITY OPERATIONS CENTER IS THE REPOSITORY
  FOR LOST AND FOUND PROPERTY.
• Call Public Safety at 954-262-8999 to
• Report lost property
• Recover found property
• NSU ID Cards are turned over to the
• Card Office in the Horvitz Building

  presentation
• that defines and reinforces some of the topics we
  discussed.
• The video is shown during orientation and
  available through
• Public Safety Investigative Services Training.
• Please complete the Statement of Understanding
  after viewing
• the presentation and give the white copy to your
  coordinator.
