Justifying 21st Century Expenditures

• Financial support, quality programs, proper
  accountability all are necessary.
• Accountability is not as simple as looking at
  point-in-time test scores.
• To be globally competitive means that we have to
  invest in the resources (including education) to
  make us competitive.

• Rockingham County and Harrisonburg schools will
  continue to grow.
• Accurate projections of the rate of student
  growth continue to be difficult.

Current Dual Enrollment

• RCPS currently has 208 students enrolled in nine
  dual enrollment classes
• Harrisonburg has 162 students dual enrolled in
  seven classes
• Many of these classes are offered through BRCC
• Dual enrollment also available through the
  Massanutten Regional Governors School for
  Environmental Science and Technology which
  includes students from both HCPS and RCPS
