• Elected to the Italian Academy of Sciences for
  his groundbreaking medical research, alongside
  Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein, Enrico Fermi,
  and Louis Pasteur
• Featured by CNN, NBC, the BBC, the New York
  Times, Jay Leno, the Discovery Channel, and
  numerous other prestigious news and entertainment
  
• Believes strongly in the value of helping others
• Chloroplast genetic engineering is replacing old
  fermentation techniques for manufacturing
  pharmaceutical drugs
• His work has applications in the fight against
  several biothreats including anthrax, plagues,
  and several highly infectious diseases identified
  by the CDC
• Oral delivery of chloroplast-derived proinsulin
  has proven to prevent the onset of Type 1 diabetes

• Graduated in 2 ½ years and won a Rhodes
  Scholarship
• Strong focus on the importance of family and
  plans to open a free clinic in the Bahamas, which
  he frequently referenced as home
• Believes in breaking out of stereotypes, and has
  chosen academia over sport, despite his talent
  and love for football
