  • First, it helped us realize that we were
greener than we realized. This realization
motivated us to take additional steps in building
    green.
  •
  • Second, new ideas were offered that became
considerations both in the renovation of our new
office space, and also in our other
    construction/renovation projects.
  • Third, we began to look closer at the cost of
green. We examined the economic payback and
the other benefits that may not be measured in
    economic terms.
  • -Dan Pederson, Director Real Estate Consulting

Crossroads for YouthOakland County Oxford, MI
  • The Energy Grant helped us reduce energy costs
and demonstrate to our kids at Crossroads for
youth how to be responsible stewards of the
environment. It's great to know that our campus
is operating with the latest in alternative
    energy technology.
  • From the first charrette through completion of
the project, it was a valuable opportunity to
learn, to make environmentally friendly and
cost-saving improvements and to involve our
students in ongoing education about alternative
    energy. Thank you!"

Presbyterian Villages of Michigan Redford
  • "We were so excited to work with the Nonprofit
Facilities Center (NFC) to both identify and
implement energy efficiencies in our new Green
Houses.  Presbyterian Villages of Michigan were
the first in Michigan to build these innovative
7,000 square foot ranch-style homes for our most
frail elders who need 24-hour skilled nursing
    care.
  • The efficiencies identified at the NFC Charette
not only helped  PVM provide a more comfortable
home, but also projected to save 30 - 40 in
operating costs. NFC helped put the 'green' in
    Green Houses!"
