4Core Beliefs that Drive School Improvement
We believe
- Students success is nurtured by teachers who
identify and meet each students individual
needs. - The school climate should insure the physical and
emotional safety of students and staff. - Instructional preparation and a focused
commitment to student achievement are necessary
for student success. - Classrooms should provide a safe, challenging
environment, where students can be risk-takers. - An organized, user-friendly, structured classroom
with maximum time on task provides an optimal

5Specific Objective and Performance Targets
- Goal 1
- All students will reach standards, at a minimum,
attaining proficiency in Reading/Language Arts by
2013-2014. - Objective 1.1
- There will be an annual increase in the number of
writing proficient students as measured by a
score of mastery, above mastery, or distinguished
on the WV State Writing Assessment - Objective 1.2
- There will be an yearly increase in the number of
reading/language proficient students defined as
students who score mastery, above mastery, or
distinguished in Reading/Language Arts on the
WESTEST.
6- Goal 2
- All students will reach high standards, at a
minimum, attaining proficiency in Mathematics by
2013-2014. - Objective 2.1
- There will be an annual increase in the number of
math-proficient students defined as students who
score mastery, above mastery, or distinguished in
Mathematics on the WESTEST.
7- Goal 3
- Through 2014, the CRHS graduation rate will meet
or exceed the graduation rate for the State of
WV. - Objective 3.1
- There will be an annual increase in the
percentage of CRHS students who receive
extra-curricular tutoring services and/or student
mentorship assistance with work in core content
areas. - Objective 3.2
- Through 2014, the CRHS graduation rate will
reflect the successful implementation of such
strategies as differentiated instruction, early
diagnosis of at-risk status, crisis and long-term
interventions, etc.

- Effect a smooth and academically beneficial
transition from CRHS, a rural district county
high school, to CRHS, an area high school serving
a much larger population of students who reside
in two adjoining counties. -

satisfaction with WV schools (CRHS).

- Installation of cardio-fitness equipment
- Implement G.Y. M. (Get Yourself Moving Program
- Train faculty on use of cardio-fitness equipment
- Monitor faculty/student participation in G.Y.M.
- Recognize levels of progression in Progect G.Y.M.
