What Can PowerPoint Do?
PowerPoint is a powerful tool to organize and
enhance any visual presentation. It can help
make your job simpler and more professional in
appearance. You can easily add photos, tables,
graphs, animations, videos, sound and more to
interest your audience.

  • Slide shows
  • Kiosks

Getting Started
  • Open PPT program
  • (Start MenugtAll programsgtMicrosoft OfficegtMS

  • Then start a New Presentation
  • (Click File then New or use the New icon at
    upper left.)

Adding Images and Animations
Choose file type you want to add from the
Insert command in the menu line. Navigate to
the file wanted and click open. Right click
image to format your pictures.

Choose file type you want to add from the
Insert command in the menu line. Navigate to
the file wanted and click open. Right click
image to format your pictures.

Adding PowerPoint presentations or a show
within a show
Click Insert on top menu and choose Object
from drop-down list. Check box to Create new or
Create from file and navigate to locate that
file. In this case, I browsed to a PowerPoint
Show in a .pps format.

Transitions between slides
  • Choose Slide Transition on the task pane for
    action between slides.
  • Other options include speed, sound, and manual or
    automatic advance.
  • Apply to all slides if desired.
  • The options are staggering, but its best to show
    restraint!

Little Tips Time Savers
  • SAVE OFTEN!
  • Save all files for one show in one folder
  • Before editing a slide, make a duplicate
  • Right-clicks provide lots of options
  • Learn sweet spots for commands and right-click
    menus
  • EXPERIMENT!

And remember. Less is more!
  • PowerPoint backdrop should enhance, not
    overwhelm, your shows content.
