Some Guidance on ProgressionProgress and
Proposals/Building the Curriculum
  • Pupils will progress at different rates.
  • The framework should support
  • both lateral (broadening and enriching)
    progression
  • vertical (becoming more challenging) progression.
  • This means enhancing experiences within levels as
    well as providing for progression to the next
    level.
  • For most young people, the move into
    qualifications will take place in S4 and beyond.
