Concept

• I am working on creating an alternate project
  management tool that offers visualization of
  data, rather than the dense text driven screens
  we see in most applications.
• I have in the next few slides too views
• Search by author Imagine yourself using a
  collaborative software with your team. You want
  to look up all the files in the database
  categorized by the author of that file. Slides 3,
  4, 5 offer these views.
• Search by project document type Lets say you
  need to look up all files from Project A,
  distinguished by document type Powerpoints,
  pdfs, Word, drawings, etc. Slides 6, 7, 8 offer
  these views.

Search by Author

• Files show up by authors A, B, C
• They appear arranged by time recent files are
  brighter, bigger older files are smaller,
  occluded, fainter.
• Dormant inactive files will show up with a
  dotted outline.

Search by Author 2

• When a file is selected, its details show up,
  while the rest of the items appear grayed out.
• Context-specific menus are revealed. Operations
  performed in place here itself, by invoking the
  particular tools functions from the appropriate
  application on the machine.

• Further filtering done on previous search shows
  relevant files in full color.
• The grayed out files do not meet the search
  crieria.

Search by project name type of doc

• Files show up by types ( ppt, pdf, word, email)
• The files are clustered by time again the same
  rules apply to the visualization files nearer in
  time appear brighter bigger, the ones farther
  away smaller fainter.

Search by Project doc type 2

• When a certain document is selected for further
  viewing, the remainder of the view grays out,
  details appear.
• In this case, the 35 emails unfold against a
  timeline.

Search by Project doc type 3

• Selecting further down the chain reveals a
  detailed view of the email the context menu
  giving further options.
• Each document selected yields its own
  appropriate context menu based on the document as
  well as user history of tasks preferences.
  Therefore the context menu here for user A may be
  very different from that for B.
