ourselves, or we know where we can find
information upon it.

9The Main View
10The Tool Bar
Hovering your mouse arrow over the various
buttons will show you tool tips descriptions
of what each tool does. Note Tool tips only
work with the Internet Explorer browser.
11Quick Zoom allows you to enter a City, Township
and Range, Division, or UTM Coordinates to zoom
quickly to your area of choice.
12This is the view when you click Zoom To after
selecting Division 1 in Quick Zoom
13You can turn on or off different layers by
clicking on them in the Table of
Contents. Highlighting a layer by clicking on the
name turns it grey, and allows you to do
additional queries such as searching for specific
diversion structures using the Find tool.
14By choosing a diversion and clicking Find, the
map will refresh, highlighting the diversion in
yellow and giving you more information in a table
below the map.
15Using the Select by Rectangle tool, you can
select multiple items within a layer. The map
will automatically refresh, highlighting the
selection in yellow, and giving you a table of
those items below the map.
16Anywhere you see the HTMLLINK field, you can
click on the blue, more info link, which will
open a new browser window with other information
relating to that record.
This particular record took us to the CWCBs
Instream Flow Database, and shows us the
information for the record we chose.
Additional information can currently be retrieved
for climate stations, stream gages and Instream
Flow reaches. Information for diversion
structures will be available soon.
17Expanding the Background folder, and clicking on
Topology, will allow you to see a background of
USGS quad maps when you zoom into your area of
choice.
18Printing
The Printer tool allows you to print out the
current map view, with a title of your choice.
19HELP!
Clicking the Help button will open a PDF file
with detailed instructions on how to use the map
viewer, and more detailed description of the
tools and what they do.
