Background

• Robotic art has become popular over the past
  decade even being shown at large festivals such
  as Bumbershoot
• We got the idea from W. Scott Trimbles robot
  shown here to the left. Our idea is to modify it
  to use music instead of random movements.
• Paintings like the ones on the title slide are
  made using multiple vehicle-type robots with
  markers.

Procedure

• First, we will design the robot. One Week
• After we have designed the robot we will collect
  some materials Motors, pen/printing mechanism,
  linear drive belts, rotisserie motor. 2 weeks.
• Third thing, we will start to build the robot and
  we will begin the initial programming. 8 weeks.
• Fourth thing, we will design and build our
  website to show others how we did all this.

The Idea

• Our idea is to build a robot that can create
  visual art from music
• Using sound sensors of different frequencies
  hooked up to scrolling robotic arms with
  different color markers, our robot will create an
  autonomous work of art
• The robot will need two scrolling arms that
  implement stepper motors and printer drive belts
• A treble sensor will run one arm while a bass
  sensor runs the other
• A large sheet of butcher paper will scroll
  through on several motor driven wheels, as the
  two markers draw on it
• The result acoustic art transformed to visual
  art by means of artificial intelligence
