5(1) Introduction This presentation is coming to
you via Microsoft PowerPoint
- This will be a regular form of presentation in
this class. - PowerPoint slides with a lot of words are used as
a content delivery tool in this class.
62. Introduction of Blackboard Learning System
(i.e. CE 8)
- It will be referred to simply as CE 8.
- We will use this course management system in a
regular base. - First, I will introduce this system and
demonstrate its functions used for this class. - Then, I will ask you to follow along with me at
your computer.

- You will be responsible for all class content,
activities, assignments, readings, and projects
required in this course. - Buy your textbook for the readings.
- Follow the schedule to read the assigned
chapter(s). - Read class materials available via CE 8.
- Perform and submit class activities, assignments,
projects on time. - Follow the schedule in order to participate in
every class discussion.

11(5) Guidelines for Leading a Chapter/Unit
Discussion
- on a rotating basis, each class member will lead
two online chapter/unit discussions on a chosen
chapter in the KG textbook and a unit in the HK
textbook. - Leading the discussion will be evaluated as 20
of each student's final grade. - Please see the class e-handouts for more detailed
information. - The following file is available via CE 8. You can
read them at your convenience - Guidelines_for_Leading_Chapter_Unit_Discussions
PDF file - You will sign up the chapter/unit chosen from the
textbook later.
12(6) General Reading Assignments
- Reading assignments include
- (1) assigned readings listed in the class
schedule, - (2) PowerPoint class materials distributed
online by the leaders of discussion of each
chapter/unit, and - (3) contribution to class discussions (answers
and/or ask questions . . .) - All students are required to read the assigned
readings. - In addition to the chapter/unit readings,
PowerPoint class materials distributed by the
discussion leaders are included as reading
assignments in each class. - Your reading reflections (feedbacks, suggestions,
etc.) of each chapter or unit (or article) should
be presented in class discussion. These are
required as evidence of completing reading
assignments.

- Our society is changing more quickly than we can
follow. - Education occurs in a sociocultural context, and
that context influences not only what people
teach and learn, but how.

- During this course we will consider some changes
in society for which technology has been a major
factor. - This will help provide a background for
discussions of why we need to restructure school
with technology and of change in schools. - How we can apply the Theory Practice to the
Implementation in the school buildings, and to
the Reflection of yourself, school
administrators, and society.
