To produce Spirit-Filled disciples of Jesus
Christ who are totally committed to loving God,
loving one another and making disciples in our
local communities as well as to the ends of the
earth.

in the Irwin/North Huntingdon zip code.
61/3, or 15,000 have no faith involvement
71/3, or 15,000, have moderate faith involvement
830,000 plus people would go to hell if Christ
came today!!!

- What do the 30,000 lost people of Norwin have to
do with a Family Recreation Center?
10ANSWER
- Lets look at the three primary functions of the
church
11The first function is WORSHIP
12WORSHIP is
- ascribing to God supreme worth, glory, praise,
and honor.
13Worship is VERTICAL
14The Family Recreation Center would facilitate
concerts and other worship events where 450 to
550 people could participate.
15The second function is EDIFICATION
16EDIFICATION is
- the building up of fellow believers into
Christlike-ness. It is fulfilling the 41 one
another commands of the New Testament.
17Edification is INWARD
18The Family Recreation Center would provide a
place for events such as
19- Children, Youth, and Adult dramas, plays etc.
- All Church dinners
- Childrens recreational activities
- Youth recreational activities
- Adult recreational activities

- Larger classrooms
- Midweek Youth activity space
- CLUB NAC activity space
- Fully functional kitchen
- Jr Sr Youth rooms - ownership

- sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with those
who do not know Him.

us in more effectively reaching the 30,000 plus
lost in our community.

26According to Percept (a company founded to help
churched understand their communities) the Norwin
areas overall concern is primarily RECREATIONAL

- Active retirement programs
- Church sponsored Day-school
- Family activities
- Personal and/or Family Counseling
28The Family Recreation Center would enable us to
more effectively reach out to the lost through
activities like
29- Outreach Dinners (Mens Wild Game, Mothers and
Others ) we are currently at full capacity
- Basketball league i.e. Upward (a Christ
centered basketball program) - SPECTATOR FRIENDLY
30- Adult basketball, volleyball
- Youth basketball, volleyball
- Walking track in winter
- Athletic seminars and training events
- Fall Festival
31A Family Recreational Center will assist us to be
INCARNATIONAL (we will meet them where they are).
Just as Jesus met us where we were, likewise a
F.R.C. will help us to reach the 30,000 lost of
Norwin.

37II. New Programs
- 12 forms stated that we should have a youth
basketball program - 13 said that the facility should focus on the
youth of our church and the community - outreach programs for the community at large such
as dinners, speakers, music programs - one said the building program is premature and we
should focus on missions instead - volleyball and deck hockey mentioned

- very specific advice on many forms
- many respondents discussed the kitchen
- the existing building should be paid off first
- using the facility for a church/Christian school
or for seminary/missions classes - need for expanded youth oriented facilities
- concern with staffing the new programs
- our property is too small - we should relocate
