Norwin Alliance Church exists
To produce Spirit-Filled disciples of Jesus
Christ who are totally committed to loving God,
loving one another and making disciples in our
local communities as well as to the ends of the
earth.
5
According to the 2000 census, 45,000 people live
in the Irwin/North Huntingdon zip code.
6
1/3, or 15,000 have no faith involvement
7
1/3, or 15,000, have moderate faith involvement
8
30,000 plus people would go to hell if Christ
came today!!!
9
QUESTION
  • What do the 30,000 lost people of Norwin have to
do with a Family Recreation Center?

10
ANSWER
  • Lets look at the three primary functions of the
    church

11
The first function is WORSHIP
12
WORSHIP is
  • ascribing to God supreme worth, glory, praise,
    and honor.

13
Worship is VERTICAL
14
The Family Recreation Center would facilitate
concerts and other worship events where 450 to
550 people could participate.
15
The second function is EDIFICATION
16
EDIFICATION is
  • the building up of fellow believers into
Christlike-ness. It is fulfilling the 41 one
another commands of the New Testament.

17
Edification is INWARD
18
The Family Recreation Center would provide a
place for events such as
19
  • Children, Youth, and Adult dramas, plays etc.
  • All Church dinners
  • Childrens recreational activities
  • Youth recreational activities
  • Adult recreational activities

20
  • Needed classrooms
  • Larger classrooms
  • Midweek Youth activity space
  • CLUB NAC activity space
  • Fully functional kitchen
  • Jr Sr Youth rooms - ownership

21
The third function is EVANGELISM
22
EVANGELISM is
  • sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with those
    who do not know Him.

23
Evangelism is OUTWARD
24
The Family Recreation Center is a TOOL to assist
us in more effectively reaching the 30,000 plus
lost in our community.
25
HOW ? ?
26
According to Percept (a company founded to help
churched understand their communities) the Norwin
areas overall concern is primarily RECREATIONAL
27
RECREATION such as
  • Active retirement programs
  • Church sponsored Day-school
  • Family activities
  • Personal and/or Family Counseling

28
The Family Recreation Center would enable us to
more effectively reach out to the lost through
activities like
29
  • Outreach Dinners (Mens Wild Game, Mothers and
Others ) we are currently at full capacity
  • Basketball league i.e. Upward (a Christ
    centered basketball program)
  • SPECTATOR FRIENDLY

  • Youth basketball, volleyball
  • Walking track in winter
  • Athletic seminars and training events

A Family Recreational Center will assist us to be
INCARNATIONAL (we will meet them where they are).
Just as Jesus met us where we were, likewise a
F.R.C. will help us to reach the 30,000 lost of
Norwin.
