10I think the fundamental mistake the religious
leaders made was trying to force a great God to
fit into their little religious boxes. Instead of
being conformed to God's image, they tried to
recreate God in their image. What they ended up
with was not a great God, but a God in a box.
11Jesus healed people on the Sabbath, and instead
of celebrating His great work, the religious
leaders plotted to kill him. Why? Because that
did not fit into their box.
- Mark Batterson, The Miracle of Christmas
12never surprise us, never overwhelm us, never
astonish us, never transcend us.

13For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither

19Dont you realize how wonderfully kind,
tolerant, and patient God is with you? Or dont
you care? Does this mean nothing to you? Cant
you see how kind He has been in giving you time
to turn from your sin? But no, you wont listen.
So you are storing up terrible punishment for
yourself because of your stubbornness in refusing
to turn from your sin.

Lord, who chose me above your father and above
all his house, to appoint me as prince over
Israel, the people of the Lordand I will make

37How far are we willing to go in our celebration
of Gods greatness?
For I think that God has exhibited us apostles
as last of all, like men sentenced to death,
because we have become a spectacle to the world,
to angels, and to men. We are fools for Christ's
sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak,
but you are strong. You are held in honor, but

we in disrepute. To the present hour we hunger
and thirst, we are poorly dressed and buffeted
and homeless, and we labor, working with our own
hands. When reviled, we bless when persecuted,
we endure when slandered, we entreat. We have
become, and are still, like the scum of the
world, the refuse of all things.
