4Who attends Summer Bridge?
- The Summer Bridge to Success Program is
- For students who are interested in science and
math-related majors - Placing at the pre-calculus or intermediate
algebra level
5Why Attend Summer Bridge?
- Earn college credits
- Meet other incoming Rutgers students with similar
academic interests - Get a head start on your college career!
- Successful applicants will receive room, board,
books, and tuition at no cost

- Intermediate Algebra track

- Intermediate Algebra maximum 15 students
- Pre-Calculus maximum 15 students
- Prep for College Writing maximum 15 students
- Prep for General Chemistry maximum 28 students

- Afternoons
- Study rooms available just for Summer Bridge
students - Work on your homework
- Tutors will be available
- Two college-level summer courses requires study
time outside the classroom!

- Evenings
- Peer-led study groups
- Required to attend one per week
- May attend more if you would like
- This is an excellent skill to have entering
college. Success in science and math courses
often requires informal group study with your
peers!

- Wednesday evening programs in the residence hall
13Where will I eat?
- Weekdays
- Three meals a day at the Busch Dining Hall
- Breakfast is the most important meal of the day
- Fuel up for your morning classes
- Connect with your classmates and Peer Mentors
- Morning announcements
14Where will I live?
- Davidson Hall on Busch Campus
- Two students per room
- Students will be assigned roommate
- All rooms have computer access, and study rooms
are available. - Please note the building is not air-conditioned!
You are encouraged to bring a fan.
15Peer Mentors in Residence
- Five Peer Mentors in Residence living on the
floor - Upper-class students majoring in science or math
- A peer mentor who will meet with you weekly to go
over your academic progress - Feel free to ask any of them questions!

- There will be two RAs in residence living on the
floor - Upper-class students majoring in science or math
- Building a sense of community among the Summer
Bridge students - Wednesday evening programming

- The Summer Bridge Hall Director will live
in-residence for the program - Overall management of residence hall
- Promotes a sense of community with Summer Bridge
students - Ensures a supportive environment in the residence
hall

18Weekends
- Students do not stay on campus the first two
weekends - Fourth of July weekend
- Leave campus evening of Thursday July 2nd
- Return the evening of Sunday July 5th.
- Second weekend in July
- Leave campus evening of Friday July 10th
- Return the evening of Sunday July 12th

- Bodies Exhibit in New York City on Saturday July
18th. - Transportation and cost of admission is provided
Both captivating and edifying, BODIES ... The
Exhibition unveils the many complex systems of
organs and tissues that drive every aspect of our
daily lives and unite us all as humans. Featuring
over 200 specimens consisting of whole-bodies and

20Weekends
- Third weekend in July
- Trip to the Bodies Exhibit on Saturday July 18th
- Students going on the trip can stay on campus the
entire weekend, or go home on Saturday after the
trip - Food will be provided for this weekend
- Students not going on the trip cannot stay on
campus for the weekend - Fourth weekend in July
- All students must stay on campus to prepare for
final exams - Food will be provided

- The Summer Bridge Commitment
- Students in the Summer Bridge community will
commit to - Attend classes and study halls every weekday
throughout the program - Attend tutoring and group study sessions
- Put in their best effort with their coursework
- Live in their assigned residence hall room
throughout the duration of the program - Not holding outside employment during this program

- Room and board 1,500
- Total 3,750
- This program is provided at no cost to the
student! - A 250 deposit is due to reserve your space and
will be refunded upon successful completion of
the program
