A note from the Headteacher Welcome back to the
Summer term. We hope you had a good break and are
looking forward to warmer days. The children have
certainly returned bright and eager to be here,
full of enthusiasm and energy. We are looking
forward to some exciting events this term
including Arts Week, Celebration Evening, school
trips and visits. Androulla Peek, Headteacher
ARTS WEEK Next week is Arts Week at school. The
children will be involvedin all sorts of
exciting arts experiences including working with
artists, puppetry, music workshops, drumming and
dance. Parents will be able to see the results of
some of these events during Celebration evening
on 22nd May. Please note things like spelling
and reading may be suspended this week.
PTA Centenary Ball What an amazing time everyone
had at the Centenary Ball last week. Our thanks
must go to the PTA Committee for doing a
fantastic job of organising such an enormous
event as well as to everyone who took the time to
bid for items and those who supplied the items
for the bids! The PTA will be advising shortly
of the amount of money raised.

- WHAT IS CELEBRATION EVENING
- The main aim of the evening is for your child to
show you around the whole school to see our
exciting learning environment. - Come and see the quality of your childs
contribution. - Come and appreciate the worth of each of our
children. - See some of the wonderful activities the children
produced - during Arts Week.
- Meet the teachers (this is not a consultation
evening). - See our plans for the School hall extension.
- Have a look around the School.
Maths Evening Thursday, 17th April 2008 7pm
School Hall Our sincere apologies for the short
notice regarding the above evening. This date
has always been on the School calendar but shown
as an Open Evening not as a maths evening.
Despite this we do hope many of you are able to
come along and learn about the maths framework
and how your child is taught maths at school.
Edwardian Day outfits We are holding an Edwardian
Day in School on 11th July to celebrate our
Centenary and are encouraging as many children as
possible to come in that day in appropriate
dress. A notice has already been circulated
regarding this but we would like to advise that
the deadline to request packs for the girls
Edwardian pinafores will be 3.15pm pm on Monday,
21st April. Following this date a paper pattern
will be available for you to purchase at 1 each.

FLEETVILLE FAVOURITES CD The Fleetville
Favourites CD, which features the childrens
favourite songs sung by different elements of the
school has proved very popular with you all. By
purchasing the CD you have so far help raise over
600 Which will go towards the Music workshop and
Arts Week activities. CDs are still available
to buy at the cost of 10 each. Please ask at
the Office for more information. Thanks.
2DISABILITY INFORMATION BUREAU We have been asked
to make parents aware of the Disability
Information Bureau, run by Herts County Council.
The DIB is an information service for people with
disabilities, their carers and parents of
children with disabilities. Providing advice and
information on a wide range of issues from
equipment, benefits, leisure activities, housing
adaptations, health issues and much more. They
can be contacted Monday Friday 10am-3pm on

PTA Cake Sale Thursday, 22nd May The PTA will be
holding a cake sale after school on this day.
Donations of cakes and buns to sell will be
gratefully received. Please bring them along on
the morning of the 22nd to the Dining Room. Many
thanks.
TRESTLE ARTS BASE FREE FILM SHOW St Albans Film
Society presents Babe (U) Saturday, 19th
April 1.45-2.15 Craft activities 2.15 film
starts Children under 12 must be accompanied by
an adult Also coming Dumbo 17th May
PUBLIC TOILETS?? Whilst we are aware that the
public toilets are currently closed could we
please advise parents that children should not
return to school after the end of the school day
to utilise the toilets here. Our cleaners may be
using heavy machinery and cleaning chemicals and
this has clear health and safety implications.
We do not want a child to be injured as a result
of this. Morrisons do have public toilets near
their restaurant area. Many thanks.
MOON WALK Miss Coasby, our Year 2 Orange Class
Teacher, is planning to do the Moon Walk on 17th
May which is a walk of 26 miles through the night
to raise funds for breast cancer and increase
awareness of the illness. If you were interested
