Challenges of MWDL Model
  • Not everyone contributes equally
  • UU doing most of hosting/supporting
  • Until August, no full-time personnel
  • Website suffers from lack of attention
  • Design doesnt guide users very well
  • Nobody wants to pay for the multi-site server
  • In process of building our own based on PKP
  • Looking at on-the-fly federated search option
  • Open Source movement frowns upon CDM

  • Leading efforts like this requires a long view
  • Some participants need to be brought along based
    on faith that they will get there
  • Personnel issues, lack of resources/motivation
  • Foster and encourage small acts of leadership
  • There must be something for everyone
