1Hands On New Orleans Credit Suisse
2The Project Partners
Hands On New Orleans, meets critical community
needs through the effective mobilization of
volunteers in New Orleans. To date, more than
4,200 visiting volunteers have delivered over
316,000 hours of service focused on the recovery
and rebuilding of New Orleans. Credit Suisse,
is a world-leading financial services company,
advising clients in all aspects of finance,
around the world, around the clock. This project
in New Orleans was support by the Credit Suisse
Foundation.
3Day of Service
- Credit Suisse and Hands On New Orleans joined
together for a three days of service in New
Orleans to help a homeowner, landscape a park,
and help a restaurant owner reopen its doors!
4Ms. Evelyns Home
- Ms. Green and her husband the late James Green
have owned the home at 2236 Baronne St. for over
thirty years. - The project at 2236 Baronne St. is a full
reconstruction of the home belonging to Ms.
Evelyn Green of New Orleans. The home, built in
1869, sustained major storm damage, losing its
roof during Hurricane Katrina and taking weather
damage in the following months until the roof was
repaired. Evelyn Green is currently living with
her daughter in New Orleans. Her son is living
in a FEMA trailer on the project lot. - Volunteers completed structural framing on the
back of the house, and windows installation.

6Cousins Restaurant
Prior to Katrina and Rita, the small business
operated as a restaurant and was owned by the
current owners cousins. Vacant since Katrina
the building took on 3 feet of water, but current
A grand opening was set for 3 weeks prior to
this project. The new restaurant, Cousins Food
and Spirits, will specialize in traditional
Creole dishes. -This is the first business owned
and operated by Mr. Kyle Fleury. -After living
in Atlanta 11 months after the storm, Mr. Kyle
Fleury created a temporary construction company
to get friends and family back into their homes.
