Goals of Breakout Sessions
  • Create a dialogue among faculty with shared
    interests to identify issues and processes that
    will advance the research agenda of UTMB
  • Serve as a stimulus to the creation of
    collaborative research interests groups that
    will advance translational research on the UTMB
    campus

Questions to be Addressed in the Breakout Sessions
  • What process, environmental/cultural change, or
    infrastructure is needed to more effectively
    transfer research into interventional tools,
    patient population studies, and new standards of
    care? How could they best be implemented?

    facilitate basic and clinical scientists
    communication?
  • How do we recruit, develop, retain, and reward
    effective translational researchers?
