LISTENING TRADITIONAL NATIVE MUSIC
  • As you are listening, notice how percussion and
    vocal work is done. What tonality is used? What
    kind of texture is added to the music? How is it
    added?

COMPOSING IN THE STYLE OF NATIVE CANADIAN MUSIC
  • In groups of 10 or 11, use one of the poems on
    p. 124 or 125 of Canada Is Music 5/6 or any of
    the native poems on cards at the front. Compose
    a piece in the style of Native Canadian music
    using a native poem as your starting point. We
    will share these in 20 minutes.
