- Multidisciplinary studies in tourism
- Basic and subject studies include into the
degree at the partner university as a minor,
advanced studies integrated into the major
subject in partner university - Students submit masters thesis on tourism
subject at the partner university, about 50 of
the students finalize specialisation - Post-graduate studies in tourism of FUNTS can be
integrated into PhD studies at partner

With 25 to 40 ETCS subject and advanced studies
in FUNTS as a minor
with 25 ETCS basic studies in FUNTS ( 25 subject
studies possible) as a minor
FUNTS study program is accepted at each member
university, Students include the FUNTS studies
into their degree as a minor or intergrate FUNTS
studies in their major.

universities, for basic studies no quota, to
advanced studies 50 students are elected each
year, application period for basic studies in
April, advanced studies in December - 39 PhD students of the partner universities,
focusing their thesis in tourism - Successful and motivated students
- Competent students graduating in a wide range of
disciplines
8Intensive learning
- In subject and advanced studies 10-20 intensive
study periods carried out each year, 2 to 5 days
one period - each masters student takes 2-4
periods each term during 4 to 6 terms -
intensive courses take place at Savonlinna campus
or campuses of partner universities - excursions
to major tourist attractions and tourism
destinations in Finland and also abroad -
Interaction between staff, teachers, and visiting
experts and scholars
9Independent and distance learning

- Basic studies offered as web courses starting
2006. All courses are supported by a web course. - Web-based Learning Environment for
discussions, guidance, tutoring, distribution of
study materials. Homepage functions as virtual
campus for FUNTS - (www.tourismuninet.org)
