12What is unique about The GLGI program?
- All monetary and gift-in-kind donations are used
to help only Canadian charities - The courseware donation is separate and
independent of the monetary donation - An independent escrow agent is used to ensure
that donations are properly carried out and
documented - The program have no loans, liens or leveraging
- GLGI has two (2) independent and reputable
appraisers valuating the courseware
13What is the GLGI defence fund?
- GLGI obtained a favourable legal opinion in 2004
from its own legal counsel and continues to
believe in the validity of this program. - Although GLGI obtained a favourable legal opinion
in 2004 from its own legal counsel, those counsel
do not act for donors and accordingly donors are
not entitled to rely on that opinion. - Accordingly GLGI urges any prospective donor to
obtain independent legal and tax advice before
participating in this program. - GLGI has established a legal defence fund to pay
the fees and costs of defending the integrity of
its program in the Courts. This would take the
form of either a test case, binding on all
donors, or a representative case, which is not
binding, but would have precedential value for
all donors - This defence fund exceeds 1,000,000 at
present. - CRA has reassessed and denied charitable tax
credits to prior year participants in the GLGI
program, as well as most or all other similar
programs, and has recently revoked or moved to
revoke the registered status of the charities
involved in those prior years. - Should donors receive correspondence from CRA,
they should simply send the correspondence to
GLGI for assistance

tax receipt for courseware - donations
