  • After China and France left Vietnam, this country
    was still unstable. Between 1950s to 1970s
    Vietnam split into North and South during the
    Cold War, and then became the Vietnam War.
  • How did the Vietnamese feel and how did the war
    effect the current Vietnam?

  • Vietnam reunified socialist Republic of Vietnam
    in 1976 however, the Vietnamese still had to
    struggle to manage their country.
  • The aftermath of the war brought the Vietnamese
    difficulties such as the mass flow of refugees,
    social evils, and the isolation and embargo from
    the United States and Western countries.

  • Economic reform for creating a multi-sector
    market economy regulated by the Government, at
    the same time consolidating legal environment and
    renovating Party's and State's structure. Since
    then the Vietnamese economy became opened and
    transformed from centralized planned economy
    heavily based on imports to a market-oriented
    one. The self-determination of financing was
    introduced (Embassy of the Socialist Republic of
    Vietnam in the U.S.).

I now know
  • Through the long and complex history such as
    reign from China and France, and Vietnam War,
    Vietnam becomes an unique country. Vietnam became
    a democracy in the economic domain although
    Vietnam is a Socialist Republic Country.
    Democratic thinking is significant to develop for
    this country because it gives Vietnameses lives
    motivation.
