Your Responsibility as a PI
  • Contact Department Chair and/or Dean and
    Department Business Manager early in proposal
    preparation process - particularly if matching
    resources, release time, space, et cetera are
    issues
  • Prepare Sponsored Projects Approval Form (SPAF)
    obtain signatures through the Dean
  • Have proposal arrive in Sponsored Projects Office
    ten(10) working days prior to deadline
  • If necessary, prepare protocols for Animal Use,
    Human Subjects and Biohazards.

  • Provide Budget Advice
  • Assist in preparation of Proposal Forms and/or
    provide administrative information
  • Institutional Representative for proposal
    submittals
  • Negotiate Awards
