WEB SITES
  • There are a number of web sites on electronics
    recycling - including
  • IAER - http//www.iaer.org
  • EPA - http//www.epa.gov/epaoswer/osw/conserve/plu
    gin/index.htm
  • PAZ/DNA - http//www.electronicsrecycling.org
  • NRC - http//www.nrc-recycle.org/resources/electro
    nics/index.htm
  • EIA - http//www.eiae.org/index.cfm
  • Each has its own focus constituency
  • Although there is no formal coordination between
these sites, there is some information exchange
    and linking

3
INFORMATION
  • There have been a number of studies reports on
electronics recycling each with a different
    scope focus.
  • Up until now, there has not been a comprehensive
report on the electronics recycling industry.
  • The IAER just published the IAER Electronics
    Recycling Industry Report 2003
  • It includes the results of a new industry survey
  • As well as a comprehensive study of data from a
    wide variety other recent sources
  • And a wealth of additional information about the
    industry
  • Including an extensive bibliography references

4
EDUCATION
  • A number of organizations have been offering
    educational programs on electronics recycling
  • typically workshops tutorials
  • often regional for specific constituencies
  • The IAER just announced that it will be holding a
series of educational programs for electronics
    recyclers
  • through its International Electronics Recyclers
    Institute (IERI)
  • the first program is September 17-18, 2003

5
GENERAL OBSERVATIONS
  • There is a lot of activity on information,
    communication education related to electronics
    recycling
  • but it is not coordinated
  • or optimized
  • The new Electronics Recycling Collaboration
Network (ERCN) could serve as a vehicle to
    facilitate cooperation and information exchange
    on electronics recycling.
