  citizens of our communities.

Headwaters Trails Network

• The benefits
• An interconnected system of trails would have a
  significant impact on the regions quality of
  life
• A number of committed trails groups in the region
  who are, for the most part, working independently
• A regional trail network would facilitate the
  creation of a shared plan for trails development
  and collaboration in accessing resources

• We envision a, safe, interconnected network of
  multi-use trails, bike lanes and
  walkways throughout the Headwaters Region that
• link our rural and urban communities,
• encourage healthy lifestyles,
• attract economic activity and
• promote a deeper appreciation for our rich
  environmental assets.

• Our trail system is an emblem of community pride.
  
• Good mapping and signage ensure that it is
  accessible and well used by local residents and
  visitors.
• It is well maintained, promoted and supported
  through the combined efforts of dedicated
  volunteers, local governments and agencies,
  private sector partners and donors.
• It is recognized as a key ingredient of our
  regions social prosperity, promoting a culture
  of activity and good health for all.
• If weve done a good job, people will come.

Trails Working Group Upcoming Events

• Oct 24th _at_ Mono Centre
• Bob Chauncey from the National Centre of Cycling
  Walking
• Collaboration with In Motion to promote the use
  of area trails with kids and Families in Dufferin
  County
• Working with other bike enthusiasts and the
  County of Dufferin to create a plan for cycling
  lanes on County Roads
