Title: Ultrasound Case: Iliopsoas Tendonitis

1
Ultrasound Case Iliopsoas Tendonitis
  • Diagnosis Iliopsoas Tendonitis.
  • History None
  • Findings Patient with hip replacement
experiencing difficulty flexing. On the left the
iliopsoas tendon (IPT) is draped over the
metallic acetabular cup (ac). On the right, the
tendon (IPT) is seen over the native acetabulum
(A). The tendon appears heterogeneous with
    poorly defined margins, compatible with
    tendonitis. Fcfemoral component. The metallic
components (ac,fc) do not interfere with
    assessment of overlying soft tissues.
  • Treatment US guided Cortisone and anesthetic
    injection.

Ultrasound Case Iliopsoas Tendonitis
  • Diagnosis Iliopsoas Tendonitis.
  • History None
  • Findings Patient with hip replacement
    experiencing difficulty flexing. Under
ultrasound guidance (left) a needle (N) was
placed adjacent to the iliopsoas tendon (IPT) and
a therapeutic injection was performed. Active
distension of the adjacent bursa was noted on
    real-time verifying appropriate needle position.
  • Treatment US guided Cortisone and anesthetic
    injection.
