• Carrying out and assisting with standard

• Monitoring health and safety, and the
  responsible use of medical equipment
• Are responsible for the accuracy and safety of
  physics methods, applied in the hospital for
  diagnosis and therapy.
• Has a strong position with respect to
  investments in medical equipment. Medical
  professionals and hospital management rely
  heavily upon his or her judgment.

• Training and education
• Controlled by the society.
• Programme takes 4 years (post-graduate level),
  of which at least 3 years of in-service clinical
  training.
• The training period consists of a general
  section lasting two years and another two years
  for specialized training in a chosen field.
• Entry requirements degree in physics or an
  equivalent qualification in another subject
  (e.g.Medical Engineer TU/e)

• Accreditation
• The society has set up a programme for
  continuing education and a system for
  accreditation. Professionals have to fulfill
  certain conditions in order to apply for
  reregistration every five years.
