Entrepreneurship Center, and the Pennsylvania
SBDC network. The Center receives its funding
from The Wharton School, the Department of
Community and Economic Development (DCED) of the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and by the U.S.
Small Business Administration
2What is the Wharton SBDC?
- The SBDC provides venture-backed entrepreneurs
and established small businesses with data-driven
research and analysis by which to help build and
extend their ventures. - Our Mission is to accelerate economic growth for
our clients and enhance the educational
experience for our students.
3The SBDC Leadership Team
Dr. M. Therese Flaherty SBDC Director Dr.
Flaherty has 25 years of experience as a
professor at Wharton, Harvard, and Stanford. She
led the international and professional expansion
of Whartons Global Consulting Practicum and has
research interests in operations and the
application of economics and IT.
Prof. Eric T. Bradlow SBDC Academic Advisor Prof.
Bradlow is the K.P. Chao Professor of Marketing,
Statistics, and Education. He has renowned
expertise in in market research methods,
branding, and e-commerce. He has been awarded
the Excellence in Teaching Award at the Graduate
and Undergraduate levels. He is also a fellow of
the American Statistical Association, a research
scholar at Bell Labs, and a former doctoral
fellow of the E.I. DuPont de Nemours and Company.
Leslie E. Mitts SBDC Managing Practice
Leader Leslie Mitts earned her Wharton MBA in
Management and Decision Sciences in 1990. She a
former Consultant in the Technology Practice of
The MAC Group, Director of Strategic Planning at
Verizon Corporation, a founding Managing Director
of Phoenician Ventures, and a current doctoral
student in Anthropology focused on the
development of teams as they transition from
non-formal to formal organizations and structures.
