Regular Technical Algorithm/Performance Oriented
Meetings
This list is not meant to be exhaustive.
  • SE IPT chairs VIIRS (weekly) and CrIS/ATMS
    (bi-weekly) Algorithm Performance meetings
  • Discuss both hardware and software topics of
importance to algorithm and product performance
  • Detailed technical discussions
  • Wide attendance
  • POCs Phil Moffa for CrIS, ATMS, CMIS Debra
    Olejniczak for VIIRS
  • P/L SE IPTs organize weekly OMPS technical
    telecons
  • Similar scope to above VIIRS, CrIS/ATMS meetings
  • POCs Raymond Crew Maria Caponi

7
Regular Technical Algorithm/Performance Oriented
Meetings, contd
  • Regular Operational Algorithm Team (OAT) meetings
    are held
  • The OATs are advisors to the IPO
  • SSPR team utilizes OATs for recommendations,
peer reviews, and possible assistance on
    ongoing algorithm tasks
  • All OATs meet nominally every 6 months at a joint
    NOAT meeting
  • Discuss both hardware and software topics of
importance to algorithm and product performance
  • Detailed technical discussions
  • Wide attendance includes OATs, IPO, SSPR team,
    multiple IPTs
  • OATs meetings are one of the best ways to flow
    external science community comments and
    recommendations to SSPR team
  • POCs Jim Duda, IPO Pam Emch, NGST

8
There are Algorithm (Splinter) Sessions at
Regular Program Meetings
The topics and length of these sessions will be
on an as-needed basis.
  • Algorithm Splinter at PMRs
  • Every month nominally 2 hrs. long
  • Excellent opportunity for cross-IPT discussions
    at a management level
  • NGST/RC PMR attendees are normally IPT leads, not
    necessarily technical task executors
  • POC Emch
  • Algorithm Session at SEI F2F meetings
  • Approx. every 2 months length determined by
    topics
  • Attendees are primarily SEI, both technical and
    management
  • Good opportunity to have mid-level technical
    discussions regarding SEI tasks issues
  • Possible to discuss cross-IPT topics based on
    attendees
  • Very detailed discussions may require separate
    focus meetings
  • POC Emch

9
There are Algorithm (Splinter) Sessions at
Regular Program Meetings, contd
The topics and length of these sessions will be
on an as-needed basis.
  • Algorithm Session at IDPS F2F meetings
  • Every 6 weeks length determined by topics
  • Attendees are primarily IDPS, both technical and
    management
  • Emch to provide top-level alg status (PMR
status) remaining portion of session led by SE
  • Good opportunity to have mid-level technical
    discussions regarding joint IDPS/SE tasks
issues with access to the broader IDPS team
  • Should segue to include STE and OS
  • Very detailed discussions may require separate
    focus meetings
  • POC TBD within SE IPT
