receives the action of the verb.

A direct object pronoun replaces the direct
object noun.

6Placement of Direct Object Pronouns
There are two different placements for Direct
Object Pronouns
1. If the pronoun is the object of a conjugated
verb, then the D.O. pronoun is placed before the
conjugated verb.
2. If it is an infinitive verb, then the D.O.
pronoun is attached to the end of the
infinitive verb.

1. Tengo el libro. I have the book.
Lo tengo. I have it.
2. Voy a comprar la camisa. I am going to buy
the shirt.
Voy a comprarla. I am going to buy it.
3. Juan tiene las manzanas. Juan has the apples.
Juan las tiene. Juan has them.
