• Weight
• Capacity
• Temperature

This slideshow will help review important
concepts that you need to KNOW for the EOG!

Know it...about length!
When we are measuring length, we are trying to
figure out how long an object is.
There are two systems of length that we use to
determine length--- the Customary System and the
Metric System.

Know appropriate measures for distances!

• Measure small objects using inches, such as
  erasers and books.
• If its as big as you are, use feet!
• If it is as big as your backyard, use yards!
• Miles measures the most distance.. You go far in
  your car!

  erasers and books.
• If it is as big as your backyard, use meters!
• Kilometers measures the most distance.. You go
  far in your car!

• Temperature answers the question, How warm?
• We use thermometers to measure temperature.
• There are 2 scales that we use to measure
  temperatureFahrenheit and Celsius.
• Temperature is measured in degrees.

Know it..about Fahrenheit!

• 90 is hot
• 70 is nice
• 50 is cool
• And 32 is ice.

The freezing point in Fahrenheit is 32?F.
The boiling point in Fahrenheit is 212?F.

Know it..about Celsius!

• Count by tens and you will see,
• Celsius is so easy!
• 0 is freezing, 10 is just cool,
• 20 is the temperature of most
• rooms at school,
• 30 is quite a warm spot
• and 40 is just plain hot.

The freezing point in Celsius is 0?C.
The boiling point in Celsius is 100?C.

• Capacity tells the amount a container can hold.
• Capacity can be measured using measuring cups or
  measuring spoons.
• There are 2 systems we use to measure
  capacity---customary and metric!

A milliliter is about a drop.
There are 1,000 milliliters in one liter.

• Elapsed time describes the passing of time.
• It answers the question How much time has
  passed?
• Knowing how to tell time is a MUST for
  calculating elapsed time.

Each large number on a clock represents 5 minutes.
