Modal Verb
  • In the English language, a modal verb is an
    auxiliary verb that can be used to change the
    grammatical mood of a sentence.

  • When we want to talk about future facts or things
    we use 'will'.
  • Long
  • The President will serve for four years.
  • The boss will not be very happy.
  • Contracted
  • I'm sure you'll like it.
  • I'm certain he wont do a good job.

Going to
  • If you are making a future prediction based on
    evidence in the present situation, use 'going
    to'.
  • Not a cloud in the sky. It's going to be another
    warm day.
  • Look at the queue. We're not going to get in for
    hours.
  • The traffic is terrible. We're going to miss our
    flight.
  • Be careful! You're going to spill your coffee.

Information Questions.
  1. Use the appropriate WH word at the beginning.
  2. Will/ going to come before the subject
  3. If the answer to the question is the subject of
    the sentence, just replace the subject with the
    WH word.

  • Mona is going to finish her project.
  • What is Mona going to do?
  • Ahmad will go with Ali.
  • Whom will Ahmad go with?

  • Used to describe activities or situations that
    were true or happened regularly in the past but
    that no longer exist now.

  • Repeated actions in the past
