Station 4- Mold Preparation
Station 1- Casting Preparation

• Molding VPI Preparation
• Install outer Diagnostics measure
• Install Outer Chill plates
• Install bag mold
• Vacuum leak check bag mold
• Install coil molding clamps

• Winding Operations 2 stations
• Install inner ground wrap insulation
• Position leads Wind side A
• Reposition coil in turning fixture
• Position leads wind side B
• Complete ground wrap sides A B

• Casting Preparation
• Receive Modular coil casting (MC)
• Mount MC to support ring
• Measure/inspect casting surfaces
• Install coil clamp studs
• Clean mold release winding surfaces
• Install inner chill plates measure

Station 5- VPI
Station 6- Coil Testing

• Test Facility Activities
• Located in the basement
• Transport MC via elevator to the Coil Test
  Facility
• Test the coils at 77 degrees K at full current

• Vacuum Pressure Impregnation
• Install MC in Autoclave
• Fill MC with epoxy resin
• Install final coil clamps
