Our Mission
  • We are committed to produce world-class quality
wines applying both French and Argentine knowhow
in the winemaking process. To achieve our goal,
we have established our winery in the exceptional
terroir of Tupungato, Valle de Uco, in Mendoza,
which offers ideal weather conditions and allows
us to produce high quality wines from organic
    grapes.

4
History
  • 1990- Jean Bousquet, 3rd generation winemaker
from France started to travel around the world
looking for vineyards with better weather
    conditions and grape quality.
  • 1997- After long search around the world
including Argentina, he chose to settle in
Argentina. He was convinced that Argentina would
be one of the best places to make one of the best
    wine in the world.
  • 2002 was JBs first harvest, which was rated 88
    by the WS.
  • 2005- JB become fully certified organic.
  • 2008- JB is exporting more than one million
bottles of premium wine to more than 30 countries
worldwide and it is among top 25 wineries in
    Argentina in terms of exports.
  • 2010- JB is now exporting 2 million bottles all
over the world, and bought 2 other lands in
    Mendoza.

5
The Vineyard and Tupungato
  • The vineyard is situated on Andes mountains
foothills where the vines are irrigated by a
    dipping system.
  • Altitude 1200 meters/4000 ft above sea level ,
big temperature difference between day and night.
  • The vineyards are in Tupungato 110 hectares, 80
hectares and Maipu 75 hectares (265 ha in total)
it is hand harvested and treated with natural
products only and it is certified organic.
  • 2009 production was 1.5 million liters and
160,000 cases of 12 were exported.
  • Currently Tupungato is one of the region of
Argentines most recognized top quality wineries.

6
Points of Differentiation
  • Terroir Total of 185 hectares (400 acres), 110
hectares in Tupungato is situated on Andes
mountains foothills at an altitude 1250
meters/4000 ft above sea level which has a big
thermical aptitude, fresh air, and low rain fall
and Maipu with 75 hectares of planted vines of 25
    years old.
  • A Family team Jean Bousquet works along with his
daughter Anne (finance and operation), his son in
law Labid (sales and marketing), his son
    Guillaume (marketing and communication).

7
Points of Differentiation
  • Winemaking We are committed to produce
world-class quality wines applying both French
and Argentine know-how in the winemaking process.
    Winemaking team
  • Jean Bousquet
  • Paul Hobbs Consultant winemaker.
  • Organic Viticulture We believe that the
healthier the vineyard, the better the fruit and
of course the wine, in other words, by nourishing
the land, and treating it with respect, we know
that the land will give us back its finest
    fruits.

8
Organic Agriculture
  • It is a global system of production management
that foments and highlights lands health and
    agroecosystems, including its diversity, cycles,
and the soils biological activity. This is
obtained by always applying if possible
agromical, biological and mecanical methods as
    opposed to synthetic materials.
  • Objectives
  • Not use chemical products such as pesticides,
    herbicides, and fertelizers.
  • Rationate using natural resources such as water.
  • Use healthy and natural products that maintain
    the soil healthy and durable.

9
Soil and Water Treatment
  • Minimum farming is realized, trying not to break
the structure of the ground, to maintain the
biodiversity and the fertility of the soil.
  • Green fertilizers are implanted with the purpose
of guaranteeing the vegetation absence (mainly
invading weeds) and improves the conditions for
the growth of the plants when increasing
temperatures of the ground and therefore avoiding
    the evaporation of the water.
  • Water comes from the underground, which is a pure
water that comes from the Andes mountains.
  • Irrigation is used through a dripping system
which is a very efficient way to use water since
    water is a limited resource.

10
Plague and Sickness Treatment
  • Ants for the control of this insect we use
sulphur aggregate, land of diatom and the
aggregate of rice bathed in syrup around the
    anthill.
  • The other plagues are secondary therefore any
action is not applied on these in order to not
    create an ecological imbalance.
  • In using products we do prioritize natural and
    biological control, using exclusively authorized
products and choosing those that have a smaller
impact on the atmosphere and the human health.
