Assessing TMJ Dysfunction
1. Palpating the internal joint- When placing the
finger in the ear, the pad of the finger should
face anteriorly.
3. Assessing ACTIVE ROM. Place fingers or
knuckles in the mouth. 2normal ROM lt2 dec ROM
2. Palpating the external joint- Look for
asymmetry, clicking, locking during opening and
closing.
