  • Definition
  • The science of maintaining good health especially
    by cleanliness.
  • The body may be divided into four sections i.e.
    Head, arms, trunk and legs.
  • HEAD
  • The Hair
  • Natural hair should be washed daily.
  • Relaxed and braided hair should be washed at
    least once a week to remove excess oil
    and smells.
  • Avoid mixing too many oils on the hair
    especially in hot weather.
  • Dandruff should be removed with shampoo.
  • It is better to use own combs when you visit
    the hair saloon to avoid contracting
    ringworm or lice which may be spread to other
    family members.

  • Face
  • Clean well behind ears to remove previous
    perfume.
  • Perfume is best applied behind the ears. Avoid
    using harsh
  • perfumes .
  • Remove make up when going to bed, to allow
    pores to breathe.
  • Pimples and black heads are caused by eating
    foods with excessive
  • oils,sugars, alcohol and carbonated drinks.
  • Teeth-
  • Brush at least twice a day.
  • Bad breath comes from food stuck between teeth
    or decayed teeth.
  • Use toothpicks or dental floss to remove food
    stuck between teeth.
  • Rinse mouth with water after taking sugary
    foods.
  • Avoid taking sugary foods and carbonated drinks
    last thing at night.
  • A visit to the Dentist at least once a year is
    encouraged.

  • ARMS
  • Armpits-
  • Shave off axillary hair !!
  • Pay special attention to armpits when bathing
    and dry well.
  • Use of anti-perspirant deodorants helps prevent
    odours.
  • Avoid using deodorants on sweaty and smelling
    armpits.
  • Hands-
  • Wash after using the toilet, before and after
    eating food.
  • Fingernails are better kept short .
  • Chipped nail polish harbours germs, it should
    be removed
  • and replaced with a new coat.

  • TRUNK
  • Bath daily and dry well, paying special
    attention to underneath
  • the breasts and private parts (back and
    front).
  • Change sanitary pads or tampons frequently as
    soon as they
  • are soiled.
  • Those with sweaty bodies should always try to
    carry toilet
  • bags so as to freshen up as and when
    necessary.
  • LEGS
  • Feet-
  • Sweaty feet cause a lot of bad smell when shoes
    are removed .
  • Dry well between the toes after bath to prevent
    conditions like
  • athletes foot.
  • Shoes must be regularly put out in the sun to
    dry.
  • Socks must be changed daily.
  • Toe nails must be kept short.

  • CLOTHES
  • Clothes and underwear must be changed everyday.
  • Black underwear should be avoided as much as
    possible as dirt
  • does not show, hence the tendency to be worn
    several times
  • without washing.
  • Clothes must be washed, properly dried and
    ironed.
  • Avoid applying perfume or deodorant on clothes.
  • Look after yourself well!!!!!
