4A Case of Nerves
- Vonya woke up with her stomach doing flip
flops. It felt like something was fluttering
around inside her! Mom! she called. I dont
feel good. - Vonyas mother came to the bed, leaned down,
and asked what was the matter. - I dont know, said the girl. I woke up
thinking about the talent show. Its today, and
Im going to have to sing in front of a hundred
people. All of a sudden my stomach feels AWFUL!
5- With a smile, her mother patted Vonyas hand.
Youre just nervous. Those are only butterflies
in your stomach. Its a feeling some people have
when they are nervous. Dont worry. Just
practice your song while you get dressed. Keep
practicing whenever you have a chance, even if
its only in your head. Youll be fine. - Really? Vonya asked. Before her feet where
on the floor, the words of the song formed in her
mind. Then, singing, she walked out of her room.
She would be fine. The noise from her singing
was sure to make those little butterflies go
away!
