• - Telephone made  by Alexander Graham Bell in
  1876
• - Radio presented by Gugleilmo Marconi (1894),
  made by Nikolai Tesla (1880s)
• - Radio and telephone combined to make cell
  phone in 1950s
• - Used to make a wireless phone that still picks
  up and sends signals via radio waves
• - First cell phone made by Martin Cooper (1973/
  early 1970s)

How They Work

• - Signals transmit to base centers
• - Base centers find phone using phone number
• - Call goes through satellites and other towers
• - Phone always transmits some radio signal to
  base center
• - Signal goes to base center nearest to you
• - Center finds phone using phone number

Parts and Functions

• Circuit board- main part  of the cell phone
• Antenna internal external- connection to the
  cellular network 
• inside the casing of a cell phone sticks out of
  the phone
• Microphone and speaker- allow speech and
  listening 
• Battery- lifeline 
• runs out gt cell phone can't function
• Other components- optional
• i.e. internet connector
