What is a charity?
A charity is an organisation which helps one
group of people to support another, helps animals
or protects the environment.

  • support after neglect and abuse
  • quality health care
  • clean water
  • nutritious food
  • a home/shelter
  • relax and play

  • Supporting a charity is not just about raising
    money,
  • be enterprising in your fundraising
  • event planning can develop your collaborative
    working skills, management, marketing,
    organisational skills and budgeting abilities
  • learning about a charity will help you grow as a
    responsible citizen
  • your confidence will be boosted by taking part in
    fundraising activities
  • your contribution and efforts will make a real
    difference to the lives of vulnerable and
    disadvantaged children in Scotland.

    for one abuse recovery service
  • 800 BIG BREAK the chance for six Young
    Carers to receive a break from their day to
    day lives and the chance to be children!

When is Kilts for Kids?
  • Kilts for Kids celebrations are focused around
    Scottish days such as
  • Tartan Day (6 April)
  • St Andrews Day (30 November)
  • Burns Night (25 January)
  • But can be held anytime you feel like celebrating
    our national culture.
  • Please take part in our tartan-tastic fundraising
    events to help give
  • Scotlands vulnerable children a brighter future.

Here are a few ideas to kick start your brains
  • sponsored event, run, walk, skip or silence
    (teachers can dream!)
  • Kilt-aoke, Kilt Idol, Scotlands Got Talent!
  • pay 1 to wear something tartan to school
  • hold a Scottish themed event
  • Set up an enterprise company with a Scottish
    twist
  • do a kilted conga round your school.
