CREATED IN 42 B.C. IT WAS ELECTED EPISCOPAL SEAT
IN 389 A.C. THE FIRST EXCAVATIONS HAVE BEEN DONE
IN XX CENTURY AND THE MOST IMPORTANT FOUNDS ARE
THE BRIDGE,THE PALEOCRISTIANA CHURCH, OTHER
IMPORTANT FOUNDS ARE IN THE NATIONAL CONCORDIAS
MUSEUM OF PORTOGRUARO AND IN THE SAINT STEPHAN
CATHEDRAL SQUARE OR UNDER THE CHURCH.

THE BARBARIC POPULATION IN CONCORDIA
IN THE III CENTURY, IULIA CONCORDIA WAS A
THRIVING CITY, WITH BEAUTIFUL LANSCAPES. THIS

THE BARBARIC POPULATIONS INFACT THE POPULATION

THE WATERS. IN THE 401 A.C. ARRIVED THE
VISIGOTHIC POPULATION WITH ALARICO AND IN THE
405 A.C. ARRIVED OSTROGOTHIC POULATION. IN THE
SPRING OF 452 A.C. JULIA ALPS WERE CROSSED BY THE
HUN POPULATION WITH ATTILA. THE REIGN OF
LONGOBARDI DURED ABOUT 200 YEARS AND CONCORDIA
ENDURED THE INFLUENCE OF THEIR CULTURE WITHOUT TO
DETACH ITSELF FROM THE ROMAN EMPIRE OF EAST.

THE CATHEDRAL
IN THE X CENTURY WAS COSTRUCTED A NEW CATHEDRAL
DEDICATED TO SAINT STEPHAN. THE ARCHITECTURE IS
COMPOSE BY TWO AISLES AND SOME FRESCOS. INSIDE
THERE IS A LITTLE CONTEINER WITH A PARTICOULAR
LIQUID, THAT TRANSUDE RELICS OF THE MARTYRDOMS,
ITS OF THE LITTLE TREASURE OF THE CATHEDRAL. THE
BELL-TOWER WAS COSTRUCTED IN 1150 A.C.

THE BAPTISTRY
IT WAS COSTRUCTED IN 1089 OR IN 1105 A.C. FROM
THE BISHOP OF CONCORDIA (HIS TOMB IS IN THE
RIGHT FLOOR OF THE ATRIUM). THE BAPTISTRY IS
DECORATE WITH A LOT OF FRESCOS (ANGELS, CHRIST,
EVANGELISTS WITH THEIR SYMBOLS, ETC).

TRICHORA
ITS ONE OF THE MOST ANCIENT CHRISTIAN MONUMENTS

HALF OF IV CENTURY A.C. LIKE A MONUMENTAL TOMB TO
HONOUR THE RELICS OF THE MARTYRDOMS AFTER THAT
IT WILL BECOME A LITTLE BASILICA WITH COURTYARD
AND AN AREA WITH SARCOPHAGUSES.
