BORN IN DUBLIN IN 1971 AND HE STUDIED ENGLISH
Literature IN TRINITY College Dublin AND
CREATIVE WRITING AT EAST Anglia, Norwich and was
awarded the Curtis Brown prize.
3He wrote many short stories in his time roughly
around seventy of them. Then in 2006 he wrote his
novel the boy in the striped pyjamas it was a
made into an award winning mirmax film. Then the
novel won two Irish book awards.
4The book lasted more than eighty weeks At number
one in Ireland and was also the best selling book
in new york and Spain. The book sold more than
five million copies. John also published his
novel in forty two different languages.

His aim was to make this book for young readers.
It was published in October 2010. this book also
reached number one in the best seller chart in
Ireland. It was voted childrens book of the year
too. Johns ninth novel, THE ABSOLUTIST will be
