High self-esteem could increase your
communication.
  • Power struggles are causes of conflict. Ex
someone in charge of prom decorating and another
person in charge of refreshments and placing the
tables. They start arguing about where to put
    chairs tables.
  • A positive result of a conflict is differences
    being settled.
  • Sources of air pollution aerosol sprays,
combustion of fuels, and exhaust from motor
    vehicles
  • A fact about rape is that the rapist wants to
    overpower someone.

6
Emotional abuse lowers a victims self esteem.
  • When speaking, you should practice the skills you
have learned in class. This is a way to practice
    rapport with the listener.
  • Active listening involves giving both verbal
    non-verbal feedback to the speaker.
  • Someone who concentrates carefully on what is
being said is practicing active listening.

7
Cost of violence to society is for tax money to
be spent on criminals in prison.
  • To implement the follow up step in the planning
process you would evaluate the project the group
had completed and summarized whether or not its
    goal was reach or achieved.
  • Feedback to respond to a question with your
    thoughts on the matter.
  • Safety procedure always look through a window
or peephole before just opening up the door to
    your home.

8
Best strategy for students to use during exam
schedule is to ask your boss if you can take off
or reschedule your hours.
  • Using I-messages is a positive effective way to
    help in a conflict situation.
  • if a group tries to involve at least 75 of
their members in a activity and hope to involve
others as well they are implementing (putting
into place) the set goal step from the planning
    process.

9
Creating a list of topics and activities
(brainstorming) is known as identify concerns
from the planning process.
  • The first step in resolving a conflict is to
identify exactly what the problem is.
  • Students who are trained in conflict resolution
    are called peer mediators.
  • Personality differences are the number one reason
why people cant get along. If one student is
outgoing talkative and another student is quiet
dont like braggers this could create a
    conflict.

10
Communication is a 2 way process of sending
receiving messages.
  • To help reduce the amount of garbage in the
environment, a person should practice precycling,
    recycling, and reusing.
  • Mediation conflicting parties must talk to each
other through an mediator who is someone with an
unbiased view on the matter. (3rd part person who
    helps to settle the differences)

11
Being open minded to everyones ideas is a good
listening skills.
  • To actively listen means to pay close attention
and to take notes during lectures.
  • To settle a conflict choose a quiet place to
discuss what the matter is and to limit others
    from hearing or seeing you.
  • If students are working on a community service
project to help the environment they should keep
in mind that families live near by and not to
cause any loud noises to disturb the peace.

12
The best time to discuss an issue with someone is
when they are not busy and they are in a relax
mood.
  • Radiation would not be a air pollution item,
things like gas exhaust, industries burn-offs
    material, and burning trash.
