Rockets, Planes, GPS and More
BUBL Project
At the BUBL Summer Camp, you will Work in the
laboratory and conduct environmental studies on
Lake Ontario. Work in the aquariums, use
microscopes, digital cameras, MP3 recorders and
video cameras. Go to Powdermill Park and work
with the Rangers. Use GPS units and try a
geo-cache course Enjoy the museum and
planetarium. Try SCUBA diving with a local
Master Diver - Gerry Stryker Stryker Scuba
Ventures.
The Bathysphere Underwater Biological Laboratory
or BUBL Project is the only lab of its kind in
the country. Youll be involved in all kinds of
activities that your friends will be envious
about.

Registration Form
Activities include
Students will spend five days working in the
virtual underwater laboratories conducting both
environmental and ecological impacts affecting
Lake Ontario. This program is being made
available to students that are entering the
7th-9th grade. The program runs Monday through
Friday 900 am-300 pm. The fee is 285 per
session. Make checks payable to Monroe 1 BOCES
BUBL Project. Parents are responsible for
transportation to and from the Rochester Museum
and Science Center, 657 East Avenue, Rochester,

Time will be spent working within the BUBL labs
completing environmental exploration and
testing. We will spend an entire day at the
PowderMill Park Fish Hatchery working within the
fish runs and ponds. Parent Transportation
Required New technologies and activities such
as Podcasts, Blogs, Webpage Development and
Geo-Caching. We will dedicate an afternoon to
the work done by James Cameron and his
investigation of the Titanic. Soda bottle
rockets, maglev cars, t-shirt design, Knex and
Geo-Cache scavenger hunts. Discover Scuba - Try
scuba diving with your teammates. Parent

Little Known Facts
Lake Ontario is the smallest of the Great
Lakes. Lake Sturgeon can reach lengths exceeding
7ft. in length yet they have no teeth and are
completely harmless. There are over 275
shipwrecks on the bottom of the Great Lakes.
Many of these ships have not yet been found or
explored. Sections of Lake Ontario exceed 802
ft. deep.
