Capability of this lab
  • We experimentally study the optical properties of
    the semiconductor lasers and light-emitting
    diodes with the techniques of photoluminescence
    and electroluminescence.
  • The equipments in this lab can also be utilized
    to measure the transmission, absorption,
    reflection, and Raman spectra.
  • In addition to the optoelectronic experiments, we
    also theoretically investigate the optical and
    material characteristics of the optical
    semiconductor devices with LASTIP, PICS3D,
    CASTEP, and MATLAB simulation programs.

  • Argon ion laser (6 W Visible Light, 140 mW UV at
    351.1 nm)
  • NdYAG laser (multi-purpose laser)
  • Monochromator (750 mm, 2 inputs, 2 outputs)
  • Semiconductor laser/LED current source
    (PC-controlled)
  • I-V characteristics measurement equipment
  • Cooling system for optical measurements (10K
    325K)
  • Wide-spectrum light source (200 nm 1100 nm)
  • High-sensitivity CCD detector (1340100 Pixels)
  • Lock-in Amplifier Photo-Multiplier Tube
  • Power meters (3 sets)
  • Fast oscilloscope (500 MHz Bandwidth, 5 GHz
    Sampling Rate)
  • Fast photo-detectors (Response time 1 ns)
  • LED/OLED (Organic light-emitting diode) intensity
