Fort Monostor
The Fort Monostor is Komároms most important
place of interest. It is the biggest fortress of
the modern times of Central-Europe. It is also
called the Gibraltar of the Danube. It was built
between 1850 and 1871 as one of the last members
of the chain of fortifications of komárom
defending Vienna, the Transdanubia and the
Danube. After the World War II it was used as a
big ammunition storage for over 40 years. Fort
Monostor nowadays is open to the public as a
museum.

Komárom Thermal Bath
The 62 C thermal water which was found in 1965
owing to a stroke of luck was declared curitive
and by now a medicinal centre has been built
based on the water. The Thermal Bath of Komárom
has got 8 pools and offers many kinds of
free-time, health-preventing and curing
opportunities for those who wish to get refreshed
and recover.
