  adolescent females from males
• other societies promote very early marriage while
  others allow some sexual experimentation

• Children and adolescents learn a great deal about
  sex from television
• sex is used to sell products
• watching more sexually explicit TV shows is
  linked to early intercourse activity
• Sexual messages also come from videos, the lyrics
  of popular music, and websites

• United States has one of the highest adolescent
  pregnancy and childbearing rates in the
  industrialized world however, recent declines
  are noted
• Reasons for these recent declines include
  increased contraceptive use and fear of sexually
  transmitted infections such as AIDS

  associated with delinquency
