Title: DESERTS
1DESERTS
2A desert is a landscape or region where there
isnt a lot of water or rain. In the desert it
doesnt rain more than 250 millimetres per year.
3One finds deserts where there arent any trees or
grass. About one third of the land on Earth is a
desert.
4There are two different types of deserts in the
world. There are hot deserts and cold deserts.
5A hot desert is made up of sand and
rocks. During the day the temperature is very
high but during the night it is very low. In
Summer the temperature reaches 45OC or more and
in Winter it goes down to 0OC.
6The largest hot desert in the world is the Sahara
in northern Africa. Other hot deserts include
the Arabian Desert, the Gobi Desert in Syria and
the Great Victoria Desert in Australia.

7Many people think that there isnt any life in
the desert but they are wrong because there are a
lot of animals and plants in the desert. Most
animals come out at night when it is not so hot.

lesson on a Wednesday afternoon.
10This picture has been drawn by Antoine . This
picture is in Egypt as one can see the pyramids
besides the palm trees, the sun and the desert
sand.
11On these maps we coloured orange some of the
major deserts.
12The cactus and palm trees always seem to be
present in our classmates paintings.
13This is our displayed work about the deserts.
