What We Will Be Doing
  • You will be creating a work similar to Mr. Klees
    painting.
  • Color an index card with various brightly colored
    crayons, then color over the bright colors with
    black.
  • You will use toothpicks, paperclips or coins to
    scratch off the black crayon, making a goldfish
    and water scene on the card.

Process
  • Write your name on the back of the index card.
  • Lay the index card over a piece of paper to
    protect the desk.
  • First cover the WHOLE card with bright colors
  • Second cover ALL THE COLORS with black
  • Next use a toothpick, paper clip or coin to
    scratch a goldfish design or scene on the card,
    as well as patterns to look like an underwater
    scene.
  • Remember positive and negative space.
  • All the black is your negative space
