• We generated US720 Million export earnings in
  2008.

  beneficiaries earning Php7.9 Billion of salaries
  and wages.

• Government earns more than Php1.5 Billion in
  taxes from the industry annually.

  (transport, arrastre, food, consumer goods,
  manpower services) in 11 Mindanao provinces.

WHAT ARE THE FACTS?

• The banana industry abides by all the
  implementing rules and regulations of the FPA
  the DENR and the laws of the Republic of the
  Philippines.
• The use and application of fungicides nutrients
  by aerial spraying in the banana industry is
  based on GAP.

• Aerial spraying with fungicides is still the
  safest and the most cost-effective practice to
  effectively and economically control leaf
  diseases affecting bananas.
• Without leaf disease control, quality-fruit
  cannot be produced and exported economically.

• There is an established close monitoring system
  and strict supervision of the proper aerial
  spraying procedures as well as close coordination
  with the community to ensure the safe use of
  fungicides.
• We are in the business of protecting the
  environment and the community as we produce safe
  and healthy quality banana.
