Whats New for 2008
  • Possession of Electronic Devices is cause for
    invalidation. Possession is considered within
    arms reach
  • Grade 8 and 10 test books, not the answer books,
    now contain the writing prompt
  • The planning sheet is now a perforated page in
    the Grades 8 and 10 Writing SSS Test Books it
    will continue to be a separate handout for Grade
    4
  • Students that were in grade 9 last year for the
    first time must take the FCAT Writing
    Assessment. Because of this, there will be only
    one writing prompt for grade 10. Grade 4 and 8
    will continue to have one of two possible prompts

Reminders for 2008
  • FIVE elements MUST be correct to use a
    preidentified document
  • students last name
  • student ID number
  • district number
  • school number
  • grade level
  • Only the last 4 digits of a student's Social
    Security Number (XXXXX1284X) will be printed on a
    label.

Reminders for 2008
  • Test Group Codes will be used for Grades 8 10
  • Schools must adhere to the testing schedule in
    the manual and in these training materials.
  • 1st time 9th graders in 2006-07 that were
    promoted to grades 11 or 12 without taking the
    writing test, must take it in 2007-08.
  • Ensure that no stray marks are recorded on the
    answer sheets, especially on the timing tracks.

Reminders for 2008
  • If a student starts a test and leaves without
    finishing (for an appointment, illness, etc.),
    he/she will NOT be allowed to complete the test.
  • Test administrators are required to use ALL of
    the allotted time in each session and should not
    end a session early.
  • Test Administrators may not administer the test
    to family members.
  • ALL comment forms will be available ONLINE only
  • Writing Prompt must be given to all students in
    attendance on Day 1 of testing.

  • Never leave test documents unsecured
